What's Love Got to Do with Rocky?... Read on

3 Weeks Romance

After storming through a 3 weeks wonderful romance with a gal… and another lousy 3 weeks of emotionally disastrous relationship with that same gal, I am actually beginning to believe that love is definitely not out there.

One would be justify that romance has that inevitably conclusion to end in either happiness or sorrow. There is another negative impact to romance, however I am compelled to leave that LAST conclusion to the Last part of this short story.

In approaching romance, I certainly have that amount of skepticism, considering that I was married once and it is perhaps me knowing for a fact that trying to sustain a romance is both difficult and almost impossible. Yet, despite the feeble pedigree of finding true love, after 3 years and probably 3 months, I fell in love again for 3 weeks.

Romance with Jennifer turns out to be a better than average romantic episode in my life initially. There were even whispers of commitment and endless pleasure in the world of never land. However, like blockbuster movie, with its twist and turns, it was not long that I could feel that the relationship is one sided. This may be due largely to me, being like a Hugh Grant's character, which only understands the concept of comic timing, and is able to deliver one liner after one liner in precisely the manner necessary to make a movie/romance funny, not having any security at all in the relationship. After promises of cleaning up one's secret closet of dead girlfriends and wives, I actually felt almost repel to even think that I had that commitment in the first place. Of course, for those who don't like Hugh Grant and me…they should know that will be coming.

So what is it that constitutes a working romance? Is that first kiss, that first f*** or its just about knowing what you want in a relationship and obtaining that dream relationship.

“Devil Wears Prada” had the young girl eventually choosing her guy in the mist of Paris's finest.

“Music and Lyrics” had Hugh Grant knowing that love is not a negotiation from free lover Drew Barrymore.

And “Shrek” found out that in the mist of beauty, every girl is a big green Ogre inside.

Maybe love is sustaining that love bound even after the sparks have all gone whoosh…

“ A friend of mine did mention that after his first marriage, he is totally disgusted by having lies in a relationship. May it be peer working pressure, or how the world economics skew towards materialism, he feels that a relationship has to be bounded with love and truthfulness.”

Maybe the key to a truthful love has always been lying with the girls. (Let's blame the girls first). Florence Lang is going to start her own talk show “Flo” whereby exploring women's view towards men, and on the other hand, men could retaliate have a voice like maybe 10% in her talk show. Are these instigations giving society's woman more social freedom to do whatever they want…towards us guys? Even to the extent of dumping them when things go bumpy?

Whatever is the reason to breakups, romance and love's joy rides, please us all appreciate that these are all eventually love in life.

Every time I land from a plane in the airport, there was absolutely nothing but love everywhere at the arrival gates. Boyfriends, girlfriends, wives, husbands, lovers, mothers, fathers, children…these are all people in love whenever you reach the arrival gates.

My mom, has been faithful to my dad from the day she was married, till the day he died and till the day they have only each other in heavenly bliss.

Maybe love is just concentrating on just your loved ones…and not those clueless people, in the whole world, scrapping for their own definition of love.

NOW, the story that I promised at the front. A male friend of mine, who had a lovely relationship with a girl, had just momentary, ended up in a hospital with a knife stabbed in his arm and neck, and a dessert of Blue-black in his eye. His girlfriend, nevertheless, accomplished these unhealed scars, had apparently attacked him when he just wanted a break up.

For those who laugh…be afraid. Be very afraid.

There's evidence of an unrealized answer to the definition of Love. However, after a 6 weeks romance with Jennifer, I know I want more than a relationship based on sweet whispers and expensive dinners.
